The authors study the spectral theory of nonlocal dispersal operators with almost periodic dependence and then consider the asymptotic dynamics of nonlinear nonlocal dispersal equations with almost periodic dependence. The paper is the first of a series of two publications. In the first one, that is the one here reviewed, they investigate the principal spectral theory of nonlocal dispersal operators considering two related aspects: top Lyapunov exponents and generalized principal eigenvalues. Various characterizations of the top Lyapunov exponents and generalized principal eigenvalues are provided. They conclude the paper establishing the relations between them, and studying the effect of time and space variations.
