The authors investigate weighted adjoint Fourier restriction inequalities \(\|Q \check{F}_\sigma\|_{L^q(\mathbb{R}^N)} \leq C \|F\|_{L^2(\mathbb{S}^{N-1})}\), where \(\check{F}_\sigma\) is the inverse Fourier transform of a function \(F \in L^2(\mathbb{S}^{N-1})\) which is invariant under the action of a closed subgroup \(G \subset O(N)\), the weight function \(Q \in L^\infty(\mathbb{R}^N)\), and \(C\) does not depend on \(F\). Ranges for the exponent \(q\) guaranteeing the validity of this inequality are obtained when \(G = O(N-k) \times O(k)\), \(k \in \{1,\dots,N-1\}\), and \(Q\) is supported on the set \(\{(x,y) \in \mathbb{R}^{N-k} \times \mathbb{R}^k: |x| \leq a |y|^{-\alpha}\}\). In the case of a general subgroup \(G\), if the desired inequality is assumed to be true for a \(G\)-invariant weight \(Q\), the authors derive ranges of validity of \((L^{p'},L^p)\)-Helmholtz resolvent estimates for \(G\)-invariant functions and the nonvanishing property of the corresponding resolvent operator. These results are applied to obtain the existence of nontrivial \(G\)-invariant solutions of the problem \(-\Delta u - u = Q(x) |u|^{p-2}u\) in \(\mathbb{R}^N\).
