The author considers a question on the functoriality of the dg category of twisted complexes. The dg category of twisted complexes may be considered for any sheaf of rings on a simplicial space and often provides an explicit model for global sections of the associated sheaf of categories of modules. An important special case gives an explicit enhancement of the derived category of perfect complexes on a complex manifold or algebraic variety. This construction going back to Toledo and Tang has recently seen renewed attention (see the references in the article). While any map between simplicial spaces induces a dg functor on categories of twisted complexes it is not true that a simplicial homotopy induces a dg natural transformation. To remedy this Wei explicitly constructs an \(A_\infty\)-natural transformation induced by a simplicial homotopy. In fact, this \(A_\infty\)-natural transformation only has two components (rather than a countably infinite family of components as for a general \(A_\infty\)-natural transformation). Restricted to perfect complexes he finds that this \(A_\infty\) natural transformation admits an \(A_\infty\)-quasi-inverse.
