The paper under review deals with the open question of \textit{M. Hata} [Japan J. Appl. Math. 2, 381--414 (1985; Zbl 0608.28003)]: Is every Peano continuum a topological fractal? The author obtaines following main theorem. Theorem 4.8. For every Peano continuum \(X\) which has \(A \subset X\) self regenerating fractal with nonempty interior, \(X\) is an underlying space for some topological fractal. The notion of self regenerating fractal is proposed by Taras Banakh and developed by the author, which much better reflects the intuitive perception of self-similarity. There are some classical fractals which are self regenerating in the last section.
