The author's logarithmic Bergman kernel corresponds to holomorphic sections of powers of a line bundle over a Kähler manifold when the sections vanish on a given subvariety of the manifold. The main result provides the asymptotic behavior of the logarithmic Bergman kernel near the subvariety. Various authors have studied a related notion of partial Bergman kernel, in which the order of vanishing grows with the power of the line bundle. The author applies the theory to calculate the conditional expectation of the density of zeros of Gaussian random holomorphic sections of powers of a line bundle when the sections vanish on a given smooth subvariety. This application generalizes some results of \textit{B. Shiffman} et al. [J. Inst. Math. Jussieu 10, No. 3, 753--783 (2011; Zbl 1222.32036)].
