Let \((L,h)\) be a positive holomorphic line bundle over a compact complex manifold \(M\) of dimension \(m\), equipped with the Kähler form \(\omega=c_1(L,h)\). Consider the space of global holomorphic sections \(H^0(M,L^k)\), where \(L^k=L^{\otimes k}\), \(k\geq1\), endowed with the natural inner product induced by the metric \(h^k=h^{\otimes k}\) on \(L^k\) and the volume form \(\omega^m/m!\) on \(M\). One can identify \(H^0(M,L^k)\equiv{\mathbb C}^{d_k}\), where \(d_k=\dim H^0(M,L^k)\), by means of a fixed orthonormal basis of \(H^0(M,L^k)\). Using this identification one endows \(H^0(M,L^k)\) with the Gaussian probability measure from \({\mathbb C}^{d_k}\). Let \(Z_{s^k}\) denote the current of integration (with multiplicities) along the zero divisor of a section \(s^k\in H^0(M,L^k)\) and let \(\psi\) be a real smooth \((m-1,m-1)\)-form on \(M\). Let \(\mathbf{Var}(Z_{s^k},\psi)\) be the variance of the random variable \[ s^k\in H^0(M,L^k)\to (Z_{s^k},\psi)=\int_{\{s^k=0\}}\psi. \] The main result of the paper is that \(\mathbf{Var}(Z_{s^k},\psi)\) has a full asymptotic expansion \[ \mathbf{Var}(Z_{s^k},\psi)\sim A_0k^{-m}+A_1k^{-m-1}+\ldots+A_jk^{-m-j}+\ldots\;. \] Moreover, the coefficients \(A_0\) and \(A_1\) are explicitly determined. This extends an earlier result of the author and \textit{S. Zelditch} [Pure Appl. Math. Q. 6, No. 4, 1145--1167 (2010; Zbl 1217.32003)] where the first-order asymptotic expansion \[ \mathbf{Var}(Z_{s^k},\psi)=A_0k^{-m}+O(k^{-m-\frac{1}{2}+\varepsilon}) \] was obtained.
