Annular bounds for the zeros of a polynomial from companion matrices (Q2062309)

The authors find several upper bounds for the moduli of the zeros of a monic univariate complex polynomial in terms of the coefficients and the degree, and hence determine annuli in the complex plane that contain all the zeros. The proofs are based on matrix inequalities for the spectral and numerical radius and the spectral norm which are applied to the Frobenius companion matrix of the polynomial.
