The goal of this paper is to give two hypergeometric functions for function fields. The first one can be regarded as a generalization of the exponential and the second as a generalization of the logarithm. The first one is discussed in Section 2 and the second one in Section 3. Both functions are stable under an operator analogous to classical differentiation. The paper studies these hypergeometric functions and a new operator such that the Drinfeld logarithm is stable under it. It is also studied an equation satisfied by the hypergeometric functions. In the last section, the paper provides several applications. The first one gives relations between a hypergeometric function, a period and a supersingular polynomial similar to the ones in the classical case. The second one is an analogue to a classical case from a modular curve viewpoint. The author also gives applications to the hypergeometric functions with non-trivial parameters.
