For prime \(p\), we denote by \(C\) the diagonal Cartan subgroup of \(\mathrm{SL}(n, \mathbb{Q}_p)\), consisting of all diagonal matrices in the group. Let us denote by \(\mathrm{Cart}(\mathrm{SL}(n, \mathbb{Q}_p))\) the set of all conjugates of \(C\) in \(\mathrm{SL}(n, \mathbb{Q}_p)\). In the paper under the review, the author study the Chabauty compactification \(\overline{\mathrm{Cart}(\mathrm{SL}(n, \mathbb{Q}_p))}^{Ch}\), and classify elements of this compactification. Provided classification distincts between members of compactification having only elliptic elements and those having at least one hyperbolic element. An explicit homeomorphism between \(\overline{\mathrm{Cart}(\mathrm{SL}(n, \mathbb{Q}_p))}^{Ch}\) and the Chabauty compactification in \(\mathfrak{sl}(n, \mathbb{Q}_p)\) of \(\mathrm{SL}(n, \mathbb{Q}_p)\)-conjugates of the Lie algebra of \(C\) is constructed. The authors also compute all the Chabauty limits for \(n \leq 4\), up to conjugacy, and prove that for \(n \geq 7\) there are infinitely many Chabauty limits.
