Let \(f : J \to J\) be a hyperbolic rational map on the Riemann sphere, restricted to its Julia set, and \( 0< \delta <2\) be the Hausdorff dimension of \(J\). A periodic orbit \(\tau = \{z, f(z), \dots f^{-1} (z) \}\), where \(f^n(z) = z\), is called primitive if \(f^m(z) \neq z\), for all \(1 \leq m < n\). The set of primitive periodic orbits is denoted by \(\mathcal{P}\). For each \(\tau \in \mathcal{P}\) the multiplier and the holonomy are well-defined objects (see the papers for details). The authors consider a counting problem for orbits of hyperbolic rational maps, where some constraints are placed on the multipliers of orbits. Using arguments from [\textit{D. Dolgopyat}, Ann. Math. (2) 147, No. 2, 357--390 (1998; Zbl 0911.58029)], they consider varying and potentially shrinking intervals, and obtain a result which resembles a local central limit theorem for the logarithm of the absolute value of the multiplier. Also an equidistribution theorem for the holonomies is obtained.
