The authors prove the global well-posedness of the 3D magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations with partial diffusion in the three-dimensional torus \(\mathbb{T}^3\). They investigate two cases where the system is linearized around some background magnetic field \(B\): 1) the equation for the velocity field is viscous, but the equation for the magnetic field does not have any diffusion; 2) the symmetric case. More precisely, the backgroud magnetic field is required to satisfy a specific Diophantine condition which provides a Poincaré-type inequality (Lemma 2.1). An interesting point is that the Diophantine condition seems to be natural as it is necessary to apply the coordinate transform introduced by \textit{W. Deng} and \textit{P. Zhang} [Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 230, No. 3, 1017--1102 (2018; Zbl 1414.35166)] to obtain the large-time behavior and decay rates of the MHD equations on \(\mathbb{R}^3\). Besides the background magnetic fields and partial diffusion, the main result of this paper (Theorem 1.1) is valid for small data (in the sense of Sobolev norms) with a zero-mean assumption for the initial velocity and the initial magnetic field. It provides global-time existence and explicit decay rates of the solutions.
