The author establishes some bounds for determinants of relatively \(D\)-stable matrices. These inequalities are related with the classical Hadamard inequality. For a given \(\theta \in ]0,\pi/2[\), a square matrix \(A\) is relatively \(D\)-stable if the spectrum of \(DA\) is contained in \(\mathbb{C}_\theta^0 = \{x+iy : x<0, -x \tan\theta < y < x \tan y\} \) for every nonnegative diagonal matrix \(D\). One of the main results of the paper is the following: Let \(A\) be a \(n \times n\) real matrix. If \(-A\) is relatively \(D\)-stable for some \(\theta \in [0,\pi/2[\) and \(a_{ii}>0\) for all \(i\), then \[ \det A \leq \frac{1}{\cos^n \theta} \prod_{i=1}^n a_{ii}. \] Also, some known classes of relatively \(D\)-stable matrices are studied and upper bounds for determinants of diagonally stable matrices and diagonally dominant matrices are given. A generalization of the Hadamard inequality for a special class of \(D\)-stable matrices is obtained.
