The authors consider Hamiltonian integrable systems with random initial data and study them by investigating the spectral properties of their Lax matrices considered as random matrices. In this framework, it is proved that the exponential Toda lattice and the Volterra lattice are related to the Laguerre \(\beta\)-ensemble and the antisymmetric Gaussian \(\beta\)-ensemble at high temperature respectively. Believing that these are not isolated and lucky cases, the authors conjecture that each classical \(\beta\)-ensemble in the high temperature regime is related to some integrable model. Also the focusing Ablowitz-Ladik lattice and the focusing Schur flow are considered. Based on some numerical investigations, a concrete conjecture for the eigenvalues distribution of the focusing Ablowitz-Ladik lattice is given. For the focusing Schur flow the expectation is that it would be related to the a Ginibre \(\beta\)-ensemble.
