The author considers a Dirichlet boundary value problem for the Lane-Emden equation \[-\Delta u = |u|^{p-1}u,\ x\in D;\quad u=0,\ x\in \partial D,\] where \(1<p<+\infty\), \(D\subset \mathbb{R}^2\). The stability of steady Euler flows associated with its solutions is investigated. Only least energy solutions are considered. Firstly the author proves their orbital stability and as a consequence the nonlinear stability is obtained when the least energy solution is unique.
