The authors investigate the topic of simple \(K\)-equivalent maps between two smooth projective varieties. The defining feature of these maps is that they can be resolved on both sides through a single smooth blow-up. The paper's major contribution is a structure theorem that makes the study of such maps easier by reducing them to the study of specific Fano manifolds. The theorem is demonstrated through the presentation of examples of simple \(K\)-equivalent maps and the classification of these maps in a number of cases, including rational homogeneous varieties and symplectic varieties, up to dimensions of \(8\).
