    In this work, the authors investigate the asymptotic behavior of the solutions of the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation on a finite lattice \(\Omega:=\Omega_{h, R} = \{x \in h\mathbb{Z}^d: -\pi R \leq x_j \leq \pi R \}\), as \(h\) tends to \(0\), assuming that \(R=h^{- \alpha}\) for some positive \( \alpha\). More precisely, for \(d=2, 3\) they show that (the linear interpolation of the extension) of the solutions of the Cauchy problem \[ \left\{ \begin{array}{rcl} i\partial_t w - \Delta_\Omega w+ |w|^ {2} w& = &0\\ { w}{}_{|t=0} &= & w_0, \end{array} \right. \] converge in \(L^2(\mathbb R^d)\), on any finite time interval with a precise rate of convergence, to the solutions of the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the entire Euclidean space \[ \left\{ \begin{array}{rcl} i\partial_t u - \Delta u + |u|^ {2} u& = &0\\ { u}{}_{|t=0} &= & u_0 \in H^{1, 1}(\mathbb R^d), \end{array} \right. \] where \(\Delta_\Omega\) is the discrete Laplacian acting on functions with zero boundary values and where the data \(w_0\) is a truncation of the discretization of \(u_0\). Their proof uses adapted Strichartz estimates on finite lattices.
