Let \(M\) be a compact simply connected hyperkaehler manifold and let \(Tw(M)\) be the twistor space of \(M\). There is a natural propjection \(\pi :Tw(M) \rightarrow \mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^1\), where \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^1\) is identified with the \(2\)-sphere \(S^2 = \{(a,b,c)\in \mathbb{R}^3 | a^2+b^2+c^2=1\}\) of induced complex structures, given by linear combinations \(aI+bJ+cK\), where \((a,b,c)\in S^2\), and \((I,J,K)\) is the triple of integrable almost complex structures of the hyperkaehler manifold \(M\). The authors study holomorphic vector bundles \(E\) over the twistor space \(Tw(M)\) and give a characterization of the semistabiity condition for \(E\) in terms of its restriction to the holomorphic sections of the holomorphic projection \(\pi\). The main results are the following: ``Theorem 5.2 Let \(M\) be a compact simply connected hyperkaehler manifold, and let \(E\) be a holomorphic vector bundle on its twistor space \(Tw(M)\). If \(E\) is irreducible (i.e. \(E\) has no nonzero proper subsheaves) and the rank of \(E\) is prime, then \(E\) is generically fibre-wise stable.'' and ``Theorem 7.1 Let \(M\) be a K3 surface. There exist examples of irreducible but nowhere fibre-wise stable bundles of any composite rank on its twistor space \(Tw(M)\).''
