The paper under review gives a construction of Euler systems for the \(p\)-adic Galois representations associated to generic non-endoscopic cohomological cuspidal automorphic representations of \(\mathrm{GSp}(4)\) over \(\mathbb{Q}\). The Euler system is a family of Galois cohomolgy classes over the cyclotomic fields satisfying a norm-compatibility relation as the field vary. The authors construct these classes in the étale cohomology of the Siegel threefold. They are the étale realization of the pushforwards of Eisenstein classes in the motivic cohomology of the Shimura variety attached to the subgroup \(\mathrm{GL}_{2} \times_{\mathrm{GL}_{1}} \mathrm{GL}_{2}\) of \(\mathrm{GSp}(4)\). In order to show the norm-compatibility relation, the authors use part of the Gross-Prasad conjecture for the pair \((\mathrm{SO}(4), \mathrm{SO}(5))\) from the representation theory of \(p\)-adic reductive groups. The connection can be seen from the special isomorphisms \(\mathrm{GSp}(4) \cong \mathrm{GSpin}(5)\) and \(\mathrm{GL}_{2} \times_{\mathrm{GL}_{1}} \mathrm{GL}_{2} \cong \mathrm{GSpin}-(4)\). In the end, the authors give some applications of this Euler system to bounding Selmer groups and the construction of the motivic \(p\)-adic \(L\)-function.
