The study of singularity of higher codimension minimal submanifold is an important topic in differential geometry. A general way to obtain minimal submanifold with isolated singularity in Euclidean space is to consider the cone over a minimal submanifold in sphere. Minimal cone is a very important geometric model in analyzing the singularity of a minimal submanifold. In the context of Geometric measure theory, the regularity of codimension one area-minimizing current tells us that the Hausdorff dimension of the singular set of an area-minimizing n-current is at most \(n-7\), where \(n\) is dimension of the minimizing current. An immediate consequence of this regularity theory is any area-minimizing hyper-current of dimension \(6\) or less must be smooth. It is natural to ask the question if the singular set of a minimizing current has Hausdorff dimension \(0\), or equivalently when the singularities are isolated, what are the possible example other than the cone. \textit{L. Caffarelli} et al. [Manuscr. Math. 48, 1--18 (1984; Zbl 0568.53033)] answered this question by constructing minimal hypersurface (with boundary) with isolated singularities but which is not a minimal cone. In higher codimension, the regularity theory of Almgren tells us that the singular sets of area minimizing current has Hausdorff dimension at most \(n-2\). One can still ask the same question whether there is any example of minimal submanifold with isolated singularities but is not a cone. In this article under review, the author proposed the following natural problem: \textbf{Problem A} Given a minimal cone \(C\) in a Euclidean space, can we find a small perturbation of the cone to produce a minimal submanifold with the same isolated singularity as the cone but is not itself a cone? In this article under review, by generalizing the fix point method of Caffarelli-Hardt-Simon in [loc. cit.] to higher codimension setting, the author showed the existence of non-conical higher codimension minimal submanifold (with boundary) with isolated singularity and thus answered Problem A successfully. The generalization is highly non-trivial, as one need to deal with the issue of a PDE system in higher codimension case.
