Let \(\pi\) be a Hecke-Maass form for \(\operatorname{SL}(3,\mathbb{Z})\) and \(f\) be a holomorphic Hecke cusp form for \(\operatorname{SL}(2,\mathbb{Z})\). The associated Rankin-Selberg \(L\)-series is defined for \(\mathrm{Re}(s)>1\) by \[L(s,\pi\times f)=\sum_{n=1}^\infty\sum_{r=1}^\infty \frac{\lambda_\pi(n,r)\lambda_f(n)}{(nr^2)^s}.\] It is well known that the above series extends to an entire function to the whole complex plane \(\mathbb{C}\) and satisfies a functional equation relating \(s\) and \(1-s\). By the Phragman-Lindelöf principle, we have \[L(1/2+it,\pi\times f)\ll_{\pi,f,\varepsilon}(1+|t|)^{3/2+\varepsilon}.\] In the paper under review, the author improves slightly the above subconvexity bound by using classical techniques of mollification: \[L(1/2+it,\pi\times f)\ll_{\pi,f,\varepsilon}(1+|t|)^{3/2-1/51+\varepsilon}.\]
