In this paper, the authors consider a nonhomogeneous parametric singular Dirichlet problem with convection of the form \[ \begin{cases} -\operatorname{div}\, a(Du(z))=\lambda u(z)^{-\eta}+f(z,u(z),Du(z))&\text{in }\Omega,\\ u>0&\text{in }\Omega,\\ u=0&\text{in }\partial\Omega, \end{cases} \tag{1} \] where \(\Omega\subseteq \mathbb{R}^N\) is a bounded domain with \(C^2\)-boundary \(\partial\Omega\), \(\lambda>0\) is a parameter, \(\eta\in (0,1)\), \(a\colon \mathbb{R}^N\to\mathbb{R}^N\) is continuous and strictly monotone satisfying certain growth and regularity conditions and \(f\colon\Omega\times\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^N\to\mathbb{R}\) is a Carathéodory function that is only locally defined and has a certain oscillatory behavior near zero. Applying the frozen variable method, the authors prove the existence of a smooth solution of (1) when the parameter is sufficiently small.
