In the paper under review, the authors consider the simple Lie superalgebra \(\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)\) and the associated current superalgebra \(\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)[t]\). They study several classes of modules over \(\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)[t]\), namely local Weyl modules and Chari-Venkatesh modules, and also several important subclasses of Chari-Venkatesh modules like graded local Weyl modules, truncated local Weyl modules and Demazure-type modules. Local Weyl modules in the superalgebra setting were first defined in \textit{L. Calixto} et al. [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 147, No. 8, 3191--3207 (2019; Zbl 1467.17014)]. After that their properties were studied in a series of papers. Since for \(\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)[t]\) and in general for map superalgebras it holds that not all Borel subalgebras are conjugate under the action of the corresponding Weyl group, the definition of local Weyl module depends on the choice of triangular decomposition. In the paper under review, the authors choose a triangular decomposition whose highest root is even and thus the associated local Weyl modules are finite-dimensional and moreover they are universal objects in the category of finite-dimensional \(\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)[t]\)-modules. Then, the authors focus on graded local Weyl modules and relate them to fusion products of generalized Kac \(\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)\)-modules. Chari-Venkatesh modules for \(\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)[t]\) are defined in Section 4 as quotients of local Weyl modules by certain relations. The main result is that Chari-Venkatesh modules are isomorphic to certain fusion products of generalized Kac modules (Proposition 4.4 and Theorem 4.12). As consequences of these results, the authors obtain bases, dimension and character formulas for Chari-Venkatesh modules in Corollary 4.14. In particular, they show that graded local Weyl modules are a particular case of Chari-Venkatesh modules. A conjecture by Feigin and Loktev states that the module structure of a fusion product is independent of the choice of the fusion parameters. As a corollary of their results on Chari-Venkatesh modules, the authors of the paper under review prove Feigin and Loktev's conjecture in the case where the fusion factors are generalized Kac modules. In Section 5, the authors introduce and study two further subclasses of Chari-Venkatesh modules, namely truncated local Weyl modules and Demazure-type modules.
