In this paper, the author extends some known representation theoretic results for the current algebra \(\mathcal{C}\mathfrak{g}:=\mathfrak{g}\otimes \mathbb{C}\left[ t\right] \) of a simply laced complex simple Lie algebra \(\mathfrak{g}\) to new results in the case of non-simply laced \(\mathfrak{g}\). It is shown that the Weyl module \(W\left( \lambda\right) \) for \(\mathcal{C}\mathfrak{g}\) associated with \(\lambda\in P_{+}\) a dominant integral weight of \(\mathfrak{g}\) has a \(\mathcal{C}\mathfrak{g}_{d}\)-module filtration with each consecutive subquotient \(W_{i}/W_{i-1}\) isomorphic to some Demazure module \(\mathcal{D}\left( 1,\mu_{i}\right) \left[ m_{i}\right] \), where \(\mathcal{C}\mathfrak{g}_{d}:=\mathcal{C} \mathfrak{g}\oplus\mathbb{C}d\) for the degree operator \(d\), and \(\mathcal{D} \left( \ell,\lambda\right) \left[ m\right] \) belongs to some class of \(\mathcal{C}\mathfrak{g}_{d}\)-stable Demazure modules. As corollaries, the author obtained that \[ \dim\left( W\left( \lambda\right) \right) =\prod _{i}\dim\left( W\left( \varpi_{i}\right) \right) ^{\lambda_{i}} \] for \(\lambda=\sum_{i}\lambda_{i}\varpi_{i}\) with fundamental weights \(\varpi_{i}\) of \(\mathfrak{g}\), and that \(W\left( \lambda\right) \cong W\left( \lambda_{1}\right) _{c_{1}}\ast\cdots\ast W\left( \lambda_{k}\right) _{c_{k}}\) the fusion product for pairwise distinct \(c_{i}\in\mathbb{C}\) and \(\lambda_{1},..,\lambda_{k},\lambda=\sum_{i=1}^{k}\lambda_{i}\in P_{+}\), implying that the fusion product of Weyl modules is associative and independent of the parameters \(c_{i}\). In order to prove the main results, the author also develops some needed results on \(U_{q}\left( \widehat{\mathfrak{g}}\right) \)-crystals for the quantum affine algebra \(U_{q}\left( \widehat{\mathfrak{g}}\right) \) associated with the affine Lie algebra \(\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}\).
