This paper is concerned with tensor representations for the Drinfeld double \(D_n\) of the Taft algebra at a primitive \(n\)th root of unity \(q\in\Bbbk\), where \(\Bbbk\) is an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, and \(n\ge 2\). It is known that \(D_n\) possesses a structure of a quasitriangular Hopf algebra and, furthermore, by the result from [\textit{L. Kauffman} and \textit{D. Radford}, J. Algebra 159, No. 1, 98--114, (1993; Zbl 0802.16035)], \(D_n\) has a unique ribbon element if and only if \(n\) odd. However, the concrete form of this element was not known. The authors explicitly construct this ribbon element in terms of the generators of \(D_n\) and the \(R\)-matrix \(\mathcal{R}\in D_n\otimes D_n\). Furthermore, they prove that the ribbon element acts on the simple \(D_n\)-module \(V(\ell,r)\) (with \(1\leq \ell \leq n\) and \(r\in \mathbb{Z}_n\)) as the multiplication by \(q^{r(r+\ell-1)+\frac{1}{2}(n-1)(\ell-1)}\). It is known that tensor modules for quasitriangular Hopf algebras admit an action of the braid group. Let \(k\ge 2\) and consider the Iwahori-Hecke algebra \(H_k(q)\), a certain quotient of the group algebra for the braid group (on \(k-1\) strands). Its further quotient defines the Temperley-Lieb algebra \(\mathrm{TL}_k(\xi)\) with \(\xi=-(q^{1/2}+q^{-1/2})\). The authors show that the map \(\pi: \mathrm{TL}_k(\xi)\rightarrow \mathrm{End}_{D_n}\left(V(2,r)^{\otimes k}\right)\) defined on the generators \(\mathsf{t}_i\) of \(\mathrm{TL}_k(\xi)\) by \(q^{1/2}\left( \lambda_r^{-1}\check{\mathrm{R}}_i-\mathrm{id}\right)\), \(1\leq i\leq k-1\), is an injective algebra homomorphism. Here \(\lambda_r=q^{-r(r+1)}\) and \(\check{\mathrm{R}}_i\) stands for the \(D_n\)-module homomorphism obtained by applying \(\mathcal{R}\) to the pair \((i,i+1)\) of tensor slots of \(V(2,r)^{\otimes k}\), followed by the flip map on these slots. For \(V(\ell, r)\) with \(l>2\) the authors also discuss further properties of the action of the braid group and formulate a conjecture concerning the eigenvalues of \(\check{\mathrm{R}}_i\) on \(V(\ell, r)^{\otimes k}\) with \(n\ge 2\) and \(2\ell \leq n+1\). Finally, the Bratelli diagrams techniques are used to find the dimension of the centralizer algebra \(\mathrm{End}_{D_n}(V(\ell, r)^{\otimes k})\) and to prove that for \(1\leq k \leq 2n-2\) the map \(\pi\) is an isomorphism of algebras.
