Investigation of operator models arising in viscoelasticity theory (Q2146216)

The authors study a class of abstract integro-differential equations with unbounded operator coefficients, in a Hilbert space, subjected to certain initial conditions motivated by real applications. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of a unique solution of the problem in the framework of weighted Sobolev spaces. In addition, the spectrum location of the operator-function, which is the symbol associated with the considered class of equations, is also obtained.
