Let \(G\) be a paratopological group, that is, a group \(G\) endowed with a topology that makes the multiplication in \(G\) continuous. Let also \(H\) be a closed subgroup of \(G\) which is neutral, namely, for every open neighborhood \(U\) of \(1\) in \(G\), there exists an open neighborhood \(V\) of \(1\) in \(G\) such that \(HV\subseteq UH\) and \(VH\subseteq HU\). In the above setting, the author answers two questions from [\textit{X. Ling} et al., Topology Appl. 312, Article ID 108092, 16 p. (2022; Zbl 1498.22002)]. First, he proves that if \(G/H\) is a Hausdorff and Lindelöf space with countable pseudocharacter, then \(G/H\) admits a weaker separable metrizable topology. The second result is that, in case \(G\) is \(\omega\)-balanced (i.e., for every neighborhood \(U\) of \(1\) in \(G\) there exists a countable family \(\gamma\) of neighborhoods of \(1\) such that for every \(x\in G\) there is \(V\in\gamma\) with \(xVx^{-1}\subseteq U\)) and \(G/H\) is Hausdorff with countable \(\pi\)-character, then \(G/H\) is admits a coarser metrizable topology.
