The author studies algebraic cycles on a Fano \(7\)-fold \(Y\), where \(Y \subset \mathbb{P}^{19}\) is a smooth dimensionally transverse intersection of the Grassmannian \(\operatorname{Gr}(3,6)\) with two hyperplanes. Let \(C\) be the Segre curve associated to \(Y\). The principal result of the paper is the following isomorphism in the category of rational motives: \[ h(Y) \cong h(C)(-3) \oplus \bigoplus \mathbb{1}(*). \] This verifies the generalized Bloch conjecture in this situation. As a consequence, the motive of \(Y\) is ``finite-dimensional'' in the sense of \textit{S.-I. Kimura} [Math. Ann. 331, No. 1, 173--201 (2005; Zbl 1067.14006)]. Two corollaries of the main theorem are worth mentioning. First, the generalized Hodge conjecture is established for all self-products of \(Y\). Second, it is shown that numerical equivalence and smash equivalence of cycles coincides on \(Y^m\) for \(m \leq 3\).
