The paper is concerned with a ternary Diophantine inequality in prime powers \(p_j^c\), which is a variant of the Pyatetskiĭ-Shapiro prime number theorem (which in turn is in the spirit of the Vinogradov three primes theorem). \par The inequality in question is \[\vert p_1^c+p_2^c+p_3^c-N\vert <{(\log N)}^{-E}\] for a large integer \(N\) and a large number \(E\), where \(p_j\)'s are primes such that \(p_j+2\) are almost primes. The bigger \(c>1\), the better the result while the almost primes having less prime factors. The author has proved that the equation is solvable for \(1<c<\frac{973}{856}\) with almost primes with at most \(\left[ \frac{12626}{4865-4280c}\right]\) prime factors.
