The main result of the paper under review is the proof of Gromov's sharp foliated \(\otimes_{\epsilon}\) conjecture. This is achieved by generalising to the foliated case a rigidity theorem by Llarull. Namely the authors show that, given an area-decreasing map \(f\) to a sphere, if the leafwise scalar curvature is bounded below by \(rk(F)(rk(F)-1)\) (where \(rk(F)\) is the dimension of the leaves) on the support of \(df\), and either \(TM\) or \(F\) is spin, then the infimum of the leafwise scalar curvature is negative.
