The authors present a panoramic study of the $L_p$ estimates for time fractional wave equations of order $\alpha \in (1, 2)$ in the whole space, a half space, or a cylindrical domain. From that they obtain weighted mixed-norm estimates and the solvability of the equations in both non-divergence form and divergence form while the leading coefficients have small mean oscillation in small cylinders. They use the Caputo fractional derivative of order $\alpha \in (1, 2)$ with zero initial conditions $u(0, \cdot) = 0$ and $\partial_t u(0, \cdot) = 0$ and the zero Dirichlet boundary condition: $u(t, x) = 0$ for $t \in (0, T)$ for a domain. It has to be remarked that the relevant Muckenhoupt weights are obtained for both divergence and non-divergence forms, with some restrictions on the leading coefficients.
