This paper is concerned with the study of the forward and backward shifts operators on the Lipschitz (resp. little Lipschitz) space of a tree. Conditions are given for these operators to be bounded, and several results are obtained pertaining to the study of their spectrum, the computation of the norm of their iterates, and their hypercyclicity (recall that an operator on a Banach space is called \emph{hypercyclic} if it admits a vector with dense orbit). Here is a sample of the results obtained in this direction: let \(T\) be a rooted, countably infinite and locally finite tree, and suppose that the backward shift \(B\) is bounded on the little Lipschitz space \(\mathcal{L}_{0}\) of the tree \(T\). Then \(B\) is a hypercyclic operator on \(\mathcal{L}_{0}\) if and only if \(T\) has no free end.
