There are a lot of characterizations of inner product spaces among normed spaces; see, [\textit{C. Alsina} et al., Norm derivatives and characterizations of inner product spaces. Hackensack, NJ: World Scientific (2010; Zbl 1196.46001)] and [\textit{D. Amir}, Characterizations of inner product spaces. Basel-Boston-Stuttgart: Birkhäuser Verlag (1986; Zbl 0617.46030)]. Utilizing the notion of strongly Schur-convex functions, the author introduces a new characterization of inner product spaces among normed spaces; see also [\textit{K. Nikodem} and \textit{Z. Páles}, Banach J. Math. Anal. 5, No. 1, 83--87 (2011; Zbl 1215.46016)] and [\textit{K. Nikodem} et al., ISNM, Int. Ser. Numer. Math. 161, 175--182 (2012; Zbl 1253.26022)]. He also gives a representation theorem for functions which generate strongly Schur-convex sums as a counterpart of the classical Hardy-Littlewood-Pólya majorization theorem.
