The authors consider the general 1D compressible Euler equations similar to the Brio system: \[ u_t+(u^2/2+\epsilon f(\rho))_x=0, \] \[ \rho_t+(u\rho-\epsilon \rho)_x=0. \] Here \(\epsilon\) is a small parameter and the authors show existence of solutions to arbitrary Riemann initial data for the small enough \(\epsilon\). Also they prove convergence to the solution of the limit system as \(\epsilon\to0\).
