Generalized-lushness is a geometric property of Banach spaces introduced in [\textit{D.-N. Tan} et al., Stud. Math. 219, No. 2. 139--153 (2013; Zbl 1296.46009)] in connection with Tingley's isometric extension problem. The authors prove that every finite-dimensional generalized-lush (GL) space is polyhedral. Moreover, they show that, up to isometry, there are only two 2-dimensional GL spaces (the unit sphere has to be a square or a hexagon). The second main result of the paper is a complete characterization of all finite-dimensional spaces \(E=(\mathbb{R}^n,\|\cdot\|_E)\) with absolute norm which are GL-respecting, i.e., for all GL-spaces \(X_1,\dots,X_n\), the direct sum \((X_1\oplus\dots\oplus X_n)_E\) with respect to \(E\) is again a GL-space.
