In the traditional SIR model a new group into the population is added. It is the group of individuals that carries the disease but does not show symptoms. It is studied the case that the infectious diseases are controlled by a pulse vaccination strategy but in a non-instantaneous way. The model is a system of nonlinear differential equations with non-instantaneous impulses. The global attractiveness of the infection-free periodic solution and the permanence of the infected population is studied. Some numerical simulations illustrate the interest of the model.
