The author looks at the traditional fractional calculus of variations problems in a different approach. Along with the derivation of the first-order necessary condition for the working problem, the author shows that a fractional generalization of a classical problem has a solution without any restrictions on the derivative-order \(\alpha\). Finally, two examples are provided to justify the usefulness of the work.
