Let \(a>0\), \(b>0\), \(\lambda>0\), \(s\in (3/4,1)\), \(t \in (0,1)\), \(V\in C(\mathbb{R}^3, \mathbb{R}^+)\) and \(f \in C^1(\mathbb{R}, \mathbb{R})\). This paper is concerned with the existence and energy characteristics for the sign-changing solutions to the following fractional Kirchhoff type equation: \[ \left(a+b\int_{\mathbb{R}^3} \int_{\mathbb{R}^3} \frac{|u(x)-u(y)|^2}{|x-y|^{3+2s}}dxdy\right) (-\Delta)^s u+V(x)u+ \phi u =|u|^{2^*_s-2}u+ \lambda f(u),\] with \(\phi\) satisfying \((-\Delta)^t \phi =u^2\) in \(\mathbb{R}^3\). Under some further conditions on \(V\) and \(f\), by the constraint variational method the authors prove that there exists \(\lambda^\star > 0\) such that the above equation has a least energy sign-changing solution for all \(\lambda \geq\lambda^*\). Moreover, the energy of the obtained sign-changing solution is strictly large than two times of that over the Nehari manifold if \(\lambda>0\) is suitably large.
