Given \(S\subset \mathbb{P}^g\) a smooth \(K3\) surface of degree \(2g-2\), \(g \geq 3\), the paper under review classifies all the cases for which \[ h^0(\mathcal{N}_{S/\mathbb{P}^g}(-2))\neq 0. \] The spaces \(H^0(\mathcal{N}_{X/\mathbb{P}^n}(-1))\) and \(H^0(\mathcal{N}_{X/\mathbb{P}^n}(-2))\) for a smooth variety \(X\subset \mathbb{P}^n\) are related to the extendability properties of \(X\), namely to the existence and uniqueness of a variety \(W\) having \(X\) as a transversal linear section. As a reference, see [\textit{J. Wahl}, J. Reine Angew. Math. 544, 39--59 (2002; Zbl 1059.14053)] and [\textit{C. Ciliberto} et al., ``Wahl maps and extensions of canonical curves and \(K3\) surfaces'', \url{arXiv:1802.04618 }, to appear in J. Reine Angew. Math.] for the case of \(K3\) surfaces. Moreover, the author provides a classification of the cases for which the strict inequality \[h^0(\mathcal{N}_{S/\mathbb{P}^g}(-2))< h^0(\mathcal{N}_{C/\mathbb{P}^{g-1}}(-2))\] holds for \(C\subset \mathbb{P}^{g-1}\) a general canonical curve section of \(S\).
