The authors prove the existence of a positive periodic solution for a scalar differential equation of the type \[ (|x'(t)|^{p-2}x'(t))'+f(t,x'(t))+g(x(t))=e(t) \] with \(p>1\). Here, \(f:{\mathbb{R}}\to{\mathbb{R}}\), while \(g:(0,+\infty)\to{\mathbb{R}}\) has a singularity of repulsive type at the origin. The proof involves a continuation theorem of Manásevich and Mawhin. A numerical simulation is also provided.
