This paper deals with a two-dimensional quasilinear chemotaxis-growth system with indirect signal consumption under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in a smooth bounded domain of \(\mathbb{R}^2\). In the present paper, the authors study the global boundedness of solutions for this problem basing their research on the interplay of the properties of the nonlinear diffusivity \(D(u)\geq u^m\) with the ones of the nonlinear chemosensitivity \(S(u)\leq u^q\) assuming \(D, S >0\) and \( m >\max\{2q-3, 1\}\). They prove the boundness of the solutions also in the case of \(m = 0\) and \(0 < q < \frac32\) by using a different approach. Finally, under the particular condition of \(m = 0\) and \(q = 1,\) they prove that the global bounded solution \((u, v, w)\) satisfies \[ \|u(\cdot, t)- 1\|_{L^\infty} + \|v(\cdot, t)\|_{L^\infty} + \|w(\cdot, t) - \frac{1}{\delta}\|_{L^\infty}\rightarrow 0 \] as \(t\rightarrow \infty\) where \(\delta\) is the parameter that, in the system, connects \(u\) with \(w\).
