Singular elliptic equations have been increasingly studied in the past decade and although there is no complete regularity theory for such problems, existence and multiplicity of weak solutions of problems associated to the equation \[ -\operatorname{div}(A(x, u, \nabla u))=B(x, u, \nabla u) \] have been proved in several works. Aim of the authors is to obtain in a priori bounds for weak solutions of problem related to an elliptic equation, where the growth condition for an involved function contains both a singular and a convection term. The most important feature of the treated problem is the presence of critical and negative exponents along with a convection term and a possibly nonhomogeneous operator which states the problem in a very general setting. A key role in the main proofs, which allows to transforms the weak definition of the problem, is the use of a suitable test function in order to apply powerful bootstrap arguments.
