All spaces under consideration are regular. Recently \textit{M. M. Choban} et al. [Topology Appl. 275, Article ID 107004, 10 p. (2020; Zbl 1437.54025)] introduced spaces with fragmentable open sets. Such spaces are called fos-spaces. The study under discussion presents several new results about fos-spaces. Among other things it is shown that a space covered by a locally countable family of closed fos-subspaces is a fos-space. It is stated that the product space of a countable family of fos-spaces is a fos-space. The authors also prove that every Čech complete fos-space contains a dense completely metrizable space. Furthermore, it is established that both continuous closed irreducible mappings and continuous finite-to-one open mappings preserve fos-spaces.
