In this paper the authors study some new selection principles using the star operator which was introduced by \textit{P. Bal} and \textit{S. Bhowmik} [``Some new star-selection principles in topology'', Filomat 31, No. 13, 4041--4050 (2017)]. They ask the following question: Is there a space \(X\) which does not have the property \(^{\star}U_{1}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\) such that \(A(X)\) has the property \(^{\star}U_{1}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\)? The authors answer this question in the positive. The main results are: \textbf{Theorem 3.2}. Let \(X\) be a space such that \(A(X)\) has the property \(^{\star}U_{1}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\). Then \(X\) has the property \(^{\star}U_{1}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\). \textbf{Theorem 3.4}. Let \(X\) be a space such that \(A(X)\) has the property \(^{\star}U_{fin}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\). Then \(X\) has the property \(^{\star}U_{fin}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\). \textbf{Theorem 3.6}. Let \(f\) be a perfect open mapping from a space \(X\) to \(Y\). If \(Y\) has the property \(^{\star}U_{fin}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\), then \(X\) has the property \(^{\star}U_{fin}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\). \textbf{Theorem 3.8}. The properties \(^{\star}U_{1}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\) and \(^{\star}U_{fin}(\mathcal{O},\mathcal{O})\) are closed under countable unions.
