This article is concerned with the existence of positive slutions for the problem \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta_p u=u^q+h(x, u, Du)& \mbox{in }\Omega,\\ u=0& \mbox{ on }\partial\Omega, \end{cases} \] where \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^N\) is a smooth and bounded domain, \(1<p<N\) and \(q-1<q<Np/(N-p)\) while \(h\) is a non-negative continuous function satisfying some growth conditions. The approach relies on a priori bounds in some suitable weighted norm involving the distance function from the boundary combined with a topological degree argument.
