The paper considers the polynomial ring in \(n\) variables with coefficients in a field. The authors prove that any binomial complete intersection can have a set of square-free monomials as a linear space basis if the generators are set in certain normal form. The paper also contains some results on the resultants for generic complete intersections defined by normal forms as above. Finally, some examples of resultants for quintics are given and the relation between the 2nd Hessian of the Macaulay dual and the resultant for quadratic binomials in 5 variables are discussed.
