    In the present paper the authors prove, amongst others, the following: Theorem 2.2. Suppose that \((X,d)\) be a complete metric space, \(T,S:X\to X\) are asymptotically regular and satisfying the following: \[ d(Tx,Sy)\leq M\cdot d(x,y)+K\cdot\{d(x,Tx)+d(y,Sy)\}\text{ for all }x,y\in X, \] where \(0\leq M<1\) and \(0\leq K<\infty\). Suppose that \(T\) and \(S\) are either \(k\)-continuous for some \(k\geq 1\) or orbitally continuous. Then, \(T\) and \(S\) have a unique fixed point \(p\) and \(T^nx\to p\), \(S^nx\to p\) for any \(x\in X\). This paper extends result of \textit{J. Górnicki} [J. Fixed Point Theory Appl. 21, No. 1, Paper No. 29, 20 p. (2019; Zbl 1470.54058)] and \textit{R. K. Bisht} [ibid. 21, No. 2, Paper No. 54, 3 p. (2019; Zbl 1477.54060)] for a pair of asymptotically regular mappings.
