In this article, the authors prove that if \(r\in\mathbb{N}\) and \(X\) is a path-connected finite CW-complex localized at a prime number \(p\) satisfying that there exist arithmetic sequences \((a_n)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}\) and \((b_n)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}\) such that, for all \(n\in\mathbb{N}\), \(\pi_{a_n}(\Sigma^{b_n}X)\) contains a \(\mathbb{Z}/\langle p^r \rangle\) summand, and some other assumptions hold, then the number of \(\mathbb{Z}/\langle p^r \rangle\) summands in \(\pi_n(\Sigma X)\) has exponential growth (with respect to \(n\)). This result is obtained by means of a homotopy decomposition technique that relies on a result of \textit{P. Selick} and \textit{J. Wu} [Math. Z. 253, No. 3, 435--451 (2006; Zbl 1107.55005)]. The authors also devote a considerable part of the article to study these issues in Moore spaces.
