\textit{S. Li} and \textit{Z. Shen} have defined and studied in [J. Algebra 323, No. 5, 1349--1357 (2010; Zbl 1195.20019)] the subgroup \(D(G)\) of a group \(G\) defined as the intersection of the nomalisers of the derived subgroups of all subgroups of \(G\). \par In the paper under review the author defines and studies the corresponding concept \(D(L)\) for a Lie algebra \(L\), as the intersection of the nomalisers of the derived subalgebras of all subalgebras of \(L\). At least in characteristic zero, \(D(L)\) is a characteristic ideal of \(L\). One can thus define \(D_{0}(L) = \{ 0 \}\), and \(D_{i} (L) / D_{i-1}(L) = D(L/D_{i-1}(L))\), for \(i \ge 1\). If \(L\) is finite-dimensional, define \(D_{\infty}(L) = \cup_{n \in \mathbb{N}} D_{n}(L)\). The main result states that for a finite-dimensional Lie algebra \(L \ne \{ 0 \}\) the following are equivalent: \(L\) is soluble; \(L/D(L)\) is soluble; \(L/D_{\infty}(L)\) is soluble; \(L = D_{\infty}(L)\); \(D(L/I) \ne \{ 0 \}\) for every proper ideal \(I\) of \(L\).
