The authors consider the influence of the subgroup \(D(G)=\bigcap_{H\leq G}N_G(H')\) and of the corresponding series \(D_0=1\), \(D_2(G)/D_1(G)=D(G/D_1(G)),\dots\) on the structure of a finite group \(G\). The last term of the above series is denoted with \(D_\infty(G)\) and Theorem 2.5 characterizes the condition \(D_\infty(G)=G\) with the fact that \(G'\) is nilpotent. Weaker conclusions are obtained in the remaining sections of this paper (see for instance the bound which is related to the Fitting length of \(G\) in Theorem 4.1).
