The fact that the category \(Top\) of topological spaces is not cartesian closed motivated the study of the subcategory of compactly generated spaces, by Witold Hurewicz, Jhon L. Kelley and [\textit{D. Gale}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 1, 303--308 (1950; Zbl 0037.35501)], which is cartesian closed and coreflective in \(Top\); on the other the supercategory of quasi-topological spaces was proposed by Edwin Spanier as a substitute for \(Top\) which has properties convenient for the purposes of algebraic topology. In particular, it forms a complete and cocomplete cartesian closed category. The author provides an excellent generalization of these concepts of compactly generated spaces and quasi-spaces from \(Top\) to the generalized enriched category \((T, V)-Cat\) (where \(V\) is a symmetric monoidal-closed category and \(T\) is a suitable monad on the category of sets satisfying the Beck-Chevalley condition) advanced by \textit{M. M. Clementino} and \textit{W. Tholen} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 179, No. 1--2, 13--47 (2003; Zbl 1015.18004); \textit{D. Hofmann} (ed.) et al., Monoidal topology. A categorical approach to order, metric, and topology. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (2014; Zbl 1297.18001)]. On the other hand, he presents interesting generalizations of compactness and Hausdorff separation in general enriched categories. One important feature of the categories studied in this paper is that they are topological.
